    Admissions Information & Refund Policy

Admission to the Go Team ICBC Class 1 MELT Driver Training Program

Please review the details for admission into the Go Team ICBC Class 1 MELT Driver Training Program before submitting a Registration Form. The time limit for completion of this program is based on completion of 140 hours of mandatory ICBC MELT Assessments (MV7604b x2; MV7604c x2; MV7604d x2; MV7604e x2; MV7604f x2; MV760 g x2; MV7604h x2; Theory Assessments 1,2, & 3. Participants who meet all ICBC MELT requirements at the end of 47 hours of theory; plus 33 hours of yard; plus 56 hours o practical and flex training, are eligible to take an ICBC Class 1 Road Test. At 40 hours of practical training a Go Team instructor will conduct ICBC Assessment MV7604h in a vehicle with a standard transmission to determine whether they are capable of learning to competently pass the ICBC Class 1 Road Test using a vehicle with a standard transmission. When a participant is unsuccessful in their attempt to pass MV7604h after 40 hours of practical training using a standard transmission the instructor will recommend the participant complete their MELT training using a vehicle with an automatic transmission. Unless all assessments are completed at least 24 hours before their scheduled road test date, participants will not be eligible to take a road test.

Start Date Information

The program start date is conditional on: (1) funding approval, (2) obtaining an ICBC Class 1 Learner's License, & (3) payment of a $1000.00 tuition deposit. Full Tuition of $15,500 is due on or before the first week of training. The program end date is based on the availability of an ICBC Road Test Examiner. A program end date is provided once all MELT training requirements have been met by the student, and an ICBC road test is completed On average, Go Team students complete MELT training within a six-week period. Go Team's policy is that no student will be given a MELT Certificate unless their MELT Tuition is paid in full.

Mandatory Entry Level Training (MELT Curriculum

A practical training lesson consists of 1-1 or 2-1 instructor- student driving. In addition to 50 hours of practical training; 6 hours of flex time (participant choice); and 4 hours for an ICBC Road Test, MELT training includes 47 hours of mandatory curriculum and 33 hours of mandatory yard training.  Go Team delivers MELT theory & yard training on 10 preset days during each cohort. Participants must make up any mandatory training they miss on a date that Go Team chooses. Practical training may be scheduled between 6:30 am-6:30 pm on any weekdays when theory is not being delivered. Weekend training dates are provided based on instructor availability. Go Team will do our best to schedule practical training lessons that work with your availability. We appreciate 24 hours notice for cancelled lessons if possible, but we understand that life happens.  

Prior to starting this program, participants must already have an ICBC Class 1 Learner’s License.  All program materials will be provided by Go Team. When working in the yard, you will need to bring steel-toe boots, eye protection, gloves, and a high-vis vest, for your personal safety. 

Tuition and Additional Costs

In addition to MELT tuition of $15,500, you will be required to pay ICBC $105.00 for the road test, medical. assessment, and new license fees; plus, you may be charged $150-$250 by a medical professional for an ICBC Driver’s Medical Exam. If you owe any fines to ICBC they must be paid in full prior to taking the ICBC Class 1 Road Test. Go Team will refund up to 50% of the tuition fees before a student reaches 24 hours of combined training. After 24 hours of combined training tuition fees are nonrefundable. Participants will not be paid to attend any portion of this program by Go Team.

Alcohol and Drug Use Statement

Go Team has a No Alcohol Use Policy. Students will not be permitted to operate a Go Team Commercial vehicle if their instructor suspects that they may have used drugs or alcohol prior to starting a lesson. Go Team Tuition Refund Policy

Go Team Professional Training Ltd. Is a commercial training school that provides driver training and facilitates the achievement of personal and professional goals. It is recognized that there are circumstances where a student may find it necessary to withdraw from a course(s) and/or a complete withdrawal from the Go Team Professional Training Ltd. In such instances the financial schedule outlined in the Student Refund Procedures will apply. A full refund will be given if a course is canceled or if a student withdraws from a course or program one or more days prior to the advertised start date of the course or program. Non attendance does not constitute a formal withdrawal. Refunds may take time to process.

A fifty percent (50%) refund of tuition fees will be made if the student withdraws prior to the end of the 1st week of classes or prior to completion of ten percent (10%) of the course in courses/programs less than four (4) months in length. For courses/programs greater than 4 months in length students will be eligible for a fifty percent (50%) refund of tuition fees prior to completion of ten percent (10%) of the course/program.

A forty percent (40%) refund of tuition fees will be made if the student withdraws after the end of the 1st week of classes and prior to the end of the second week of classes or prior to completion of fifteen percent (15%) of the course in course/programs less than four (4) months in length. For courses/programs greater than 4 months in length students will be eligible for a forty percent (40%) refund of tuition fees prior to completion of fifteen percent (15%) of the course/program. Requesting a Refund for Medical/Personal Withdrawals Obtain an Application for Medical/Personal Withdrawal Form from the Go Team Registrar. Obtain appropriate documentation and write a letter of request and explanation to support the request (as explained in the form). If you require assistance please meet with the program coordinator. Submit the form, along with the appropriate documentation to the Go Team Registrar.
