Admission to Practical Training Programs

Please review the following admission and program information before submitting a Registration Form.

The time required to complete a program is based on demonstrated competency and the availability of ICBC road tests in your community. Participants who successfully meet all course requirements at the end of their training will be eligible to take an ICBC road test.

Participants may choose either a standard or automatic transmission for their training.

Important: All required training must be completed at least 24 hours before a scheduled ICBC road test. Participants who have not completed all required training within this timeframe will not be eligible to take the road test.

Start Date and Program Completion

The program start date is conditional upon:

1. Funding approval, where applicable; and

2. The participant obtaining an ICBC Learner's Licence for the appropriate class.

The program end date is dependent on the availability of an ICBC Road Test Examiner.

Outstanding Tuition: Go Team Professional Training Ltd. requires that all tuition fees be paid in full before a participant is permitted to take an ICBC road test. Participants with outstanding tuition will not be permitted to proceed with the road test.

Practical Training

Practical training consists of one instructor and one student.

Each 60-minute practical training lesson includes:

• 50 minutes of hands-on training, either behind the wheel or outside the vehicle conducting vehicle inspections;

• 5 minutes for debriefing; and

• 5 minutes for a physical break.

Practical training may be scheduled between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Weekend training may be available based on instructor availability.

Go Team will make every reasonable effort to schedule practical training sessions that accommodate the participant's availability. Participants are asked to provide 24 hours' notice when cancelling a lesson whenever possible. We understand, however, that unexpected circumstances may arise.

Required Licence

Before starting the program, participants must already hold an ICBC Learner's Licence for the class of licence they wish to obtain or upgrade to.

Training Materials and Personal Protective Equipment

Go Team will provide all required program materials.

When working in the yard, participants must bring the following personal protective equipment:

• Steel-toe boots;

• Eye protection;

• Gloves; and

• A high-visibility vest.

These items are required for personal safety.

Tuition and Additional Costs

The tuition rate is $172 per hour.

In addition to tuition, participants may be responsible for the following costs:

• Approximately $105 in ICBC fees associated with the road test, medical assessment, and new licence fees; and

• Approximately $150–$250 for an ICBC Driver's Medical Examination, payable to the medical professional conducting the examination.

Participants who owe outstanding fines to ICBC must pay those fines in full before taking an ICBC Class 2 or Class 3 road test.

Tuition Refunds

Go Team will refund up to 50% of tuition fees if a participant withdraws before completing 10 hours of combined training.

After a participant has completed 10 hours of combined training, tuition fees are non-refundable, subject to the applicable Go Team Tuition Refund Policy outlined below.

Participants will not be paid by Go Team for attending any portion of a training program.

Alcohol and Drug Use Policy

Go Team Professional Training Ltd. has a No Alcohol or Drug Use Policy.

Participants will not be permitted to operate a Go Team commercial vehicle if the instructor has reasonable concerns that the participant may have consumed alcohol or used drugs before or during a training lesson.

The safety of participants, instructors, and the public is our priority.

Go Team Tuition Refund Policy

Go Team Professional Training Ltd. is a commercial training school that provides driver training and supports participants in achieving their personal and professional goals.

We recognize that circumstances may arise where a student needs to withdraw from a course or program, or completely withdraw from Go Team Professional Training Ltd. In such circumstances, the following refund procedures apply.

Full Refund

A full refund of tuition will be provided if:

• Go Team cancels the course or program; or

• A student formally withdraws from a course or program one or more days before the advertised start date.

Please note: Non-attendance does not constitute formal withdrawal. Students must notify Go Team and complete the required withdrawal process.

Refunds may take some time to process.

Fifty Percent (50%) Refund

A 50% refund of tuition fees will be provided when:

• A student withdraws before the end of the first week of classes; or

• For courses or programs less than four months in length, the student withdraws before completing 10% of the course or program.

For courses or programs longer than four months in length, students are eligible for a 50% refund of tuition fees if they withdraw before completing 10% of the course or program.

These refund provisions are subject to the applicable Go Team refund procedures.

Medical or Personal Withdrawal

Students who need to withdraw for medical or personal reasons may request a refund by completing the Medical/Personal Withdrawal process.

To request a medical or personal withdrawal:

1. Obtain a Medical/Personal Withdrawal Form from the Go Team Registrar.

2. Obtain the appropriate supporting documentation.

3. Prepare a written request explaining the circumstances supporting the withdrawal.

4. Submit the completed form, written request, and supporting documentation to the Go Team Registrar.

5. If assistance is required, contact the Program Coordinator for support with the process.

Go Team will review requests in accordance with its refund procedures and the documentation provided.
